Alexander City Arts Council
The umbrella arts organization which lends support to individual arts groups in the area and presents a season of community entertainment, affords citizens the opportunity to hear professional orchestras, watch musicals and enjoy plays. The council, which was organized in 1978, also supports the arts in area schools, including the community college.
Lakeside Players
Have you ever wanted to explore a different side of your personality. You take on a whole new attitude with the Lakeside Players.
This acting troupe does it all -- comedy, drama and mystery. This group began with a handful of enthusiast in 1987 and has been growing ever since. Although affiliated with Alexander City Arts, Inc. the Lakeside Players are an independent organization.
This group is always recruiting new members to serve on various committees. Some of those committees include casting, set design and construction, costumes and props, play reading publicity and public relations, tickets, posters and programs, make up, membership and advertising, music and a long-range planning committee.
Anyone interested in suggesting plays for the group to perform or for information on joining should call 234-4665.
