For area senior citizens whose interest are without boundaries, whose thirst for knowledge is without limits or whose desire for new experience is without restriction, Horizons Unlimited is the ideal choice.
The unique ground of retired and retirement age individuals meets weekly at Central Alabama Community College during the fall, winter and spring terms to explore topics of interest ranging from history to health, science to Shakespeare.
The mission of Horizons Unlimited is to meet the particular needs and interest of mature learners in an information environment of collective participation. Members, who come from all walks of life, meet new friends, share their experiences, explore new subjects in cooperative study and discussion and gain new insights and perspectives.
In addition to attending regular meetings, the group plans trips to museums, concerts, theaters and sites of itnerest related to the topice of study for a given quarater. Horizons Unlimited's affiliation with the Elderhostel Insitute Network also provides unique opportunities for domestic and international travel and study with members of similar learning-in-retirement programs at colleges and universities nationwide.
